Go Check Out The Wildlife!

St Davids Airfield Recent blooms: Foxgloves, Birdsfoot trefoil, Oxe-eye daisies to name a few but the lovely Cowslips are nearly over. Summer visitors: (Monday's walk) cuckoo, displaying skylarks, (seen and heard over runway along with wheatears), diving swallows, swifts, white throat, blackcaps, house martins. Residents: stonechats, robins, blackbirds, blue tits, chaffinches, linnets, goldfinches, dunnocks, hedge sparrows, kestrels, heron Also spotted: white stork, red kites, whimbrel and during the colder months, lapwings, golden plovers, snipe, Hen harriers, fieldfares and redwings, short-eared owl, whopper and mute swans. Shovelers, coots, moorhens, heron can still be heard and seen around and on the pond. We've seen more varieties than ever this year. Is this because there are fewer dogs and people?
